Our Tour Guide will Accompany you to an excursion to discover the Islamic mosques. You will start your tour by visit to the Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabaster Mosque in the Citadel of Cairo.
Then you will go to the Mosque of Sultan Hassan. It was built between 1356 and 1363. The mosque was considered remarkable for its massive size and innovative architectural components.
Al-Rifai mosque is the Khedival Mausoleum of the Royal Family of Muhammad Ali Pasha. The building is located opposite the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, which dates back to 1361 A.D.
Later you will visit Coptic Cairo also called old Cairo. where you will see the remains of the Roman fortress of Babylon (2nd century A.D), and visit the hanging church of Virgin Mary, church of Abu Serga (St. Sergio) with Holy Crypt where the Holy Family stayed for three months and the Synagogue of Ben Ezra.
The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha or Alabaster Mosque is a mosque situated in the Citadel of Cairo and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
After the citadel you will go to the Mosque of Sultan Hassan is a monumental mosque located in Cairo. It was built between 1356 and 1363 during the Bahri Mamluk period, commissioned by Sultan Hassan. The mosque was considered remarkable for its massive size and innovative architectural components, and is still considered one of the most impressive historic monuments in Cairo today. Al-Rifai mosque is the Khedival Mausoleum of the Royal Family of Muhammad Ali Pasha. The building is located opposite the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, which dates from around 1361, and was architecturally conceived as a complement to the older structure.
